Peppermint Oreo Pops Make for A Fun Treat

Ever needed a holiday host gift or wanted to do something special for a family you are close to? It can be a challenge to fit that bill, but these Peppermint Oreo Pops should do just the trick. They look just like those seasonal peppermint candies, but are just whimsically covered Oreos on a stick. Yes, they take a little bit of work, but they are entirely worth the fuss!

These are easier to make than you think, and are SO IMPRESSIVE when presented in a small bouquet — perfect for that Oreo Lovin’ person on your gift list.

You will need:

Directions:

Carefully remove the top cookie from the filling. Gently insert the stick into filling of each cookie, making sure it is set but do not press too hard or the cookie will break.  Replace the top cookie and stand upright until all cookies are complete. Freeze cookies for 10-15 minutes to help set the stick (this will also help the candy melt harden faster).

Melt Candy Melt according to package instructions. Carefully spoon melted candy over each cookie, covering all sides and edges. Return cookies to cup and once all are complete, return to freezer or   refrigerator.

With the white royal icing and a #2 tip, pipe the peppermint pattern onto each cookie.  Allow the white icing to dry before moving on to the next step.

With a #4 round tip, pipe the red in between the pattern created with the white icing.  While the red icing is still wet, sprinkle with the white sugar crystals.
